Remembering South African Music Icon Miriam Makeba - 10 Years On
Miriam Makeba or, Mama Africa as she was affectionately known, was a singer, actress, United Nations goodwill ambassador and a struggle activist. She died on 9 November 2008 in Castel Volturno, Italy, following a concert performance. She used her voice as a weapon in the struggle against apartheid.
