The Bo Kaap is an area of Cape Town, South Africa, formerly known as the Malay Quarter and is situated on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre. It is an historical centre of Cape Malay culture. It has over the years, seen the erosion of the area by developers and people with deep pockets, moving into the community and destroying its rich history. Arrests were made by police.
