How Nigeria Lost U.S.$6 Billion Through Controversial Oil Deal
A new report by the anti-corruption group, Global Witness, says Shell and Eni's deal for Nigeria's OPL 245 oil block reduced Nigeria's expected revenue by nearly U.S.$6 billion. Global Witness's report Take The Future says the projected lost revenue could fund Nigeria's combined annual federal health and education budgets twice over. The two oil giantS have denied any wrongdoing, reiterating that they acted correctly in the purchase of OPL 245.
