Calls For Nigeria to Return to Parliamentary System of Govt

A group of 71 lawmakers from the House of Representatives, mostly from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, have canvassed for the return of Nigeria to a parliamentary system. This system means that the executive branch of government has the direct or indirect support of the parliament, which is usually shown by a vote of confidence.
