Women Footballers Win Big at CAF Awards

South Africa's national women's football team had a good run in 2018, with Banyana Banyana star Thembi Kgatlana winning the Women's Player of the Year award, while national coach Desiree Ellis took home the award for Women's Coach of the Year at the 2018 CAF Awards ceremony hosted in Dakar, Senegal. Kgatlana also won for The Goal of the Year, beating out seven men and women players. The Super Falcons of Nigeria were named the African Women's Team of the Year for the fourth time.
