Why Troubled South African Energy Giant Eskom Will Be Unbundled
At the State of the Nation Address on February 7, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that Eskom would be unbundled into "three separate entities - generation, transmission and distribution". These entities will be established under Eskom Holdings. The power utility has been at the centre of controversy for mismanagement by its top executives, corruption and plunging the country into an economic crisis with loadshedding.
