Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress Party leader who celebrated his 67th birthday, was quite vocal on his objection to the government's plan to increase VAT to fund the minimum wage. He asked that a wider net be cast for those who are not yet paying taxes, to ease the burden on current taxpayers, saying that an increase will reduce people's purchasing power.
