Children, Women Raped and Abused in Nigerian Prisons - Report

Human rights group Amnesty International has reported sexual violence against children and women by security agents and inmates at Maiduguri Maximum Security Prison and Giwa Barracks in Borno State. The group also found that scores of children are being unlawfully detained alongside adults. The Defence Headquarters has denied the report, insisting that the allegations are not only "baseless but also unfounded".
