Emir Lamido Sanusi II of Kano State, has been under fire for the alleged misappropriation of funds at the Kano Emirate Council between 2014 to 2017, totalling more than U.S.$11million. His powers were substantially decreased recently, with the Emirate been split into five areas, with each having its own Emir.
