ANC, EFF Stand Against Call for Removal of South African Ombud

The African National Congress and the Economic Freedom Fighters have said they will not support a call for the removal of Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane. A recent report by Mkhwebane, which was criticised for being baseless, found that Public Enterprises Minister Gordhan had violated the Constitution when he granted former SARS deputy commissioner Ivan Pillay early retirement with full benefits in 2010.
