Looking at the Nigerian business climate, the 8th Senate of Nigeria concluded that the provisions of the 28 year-old Companies and Allied Matters Act were no longer in line with global trends and required extensive amendments. The proposed amendment to the Act is one of the most critical pieces of legislation with a direct impact to the Nigerian business climate and Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMEs).
