All Out - Enough Faffing Around, Proteas. It's Time to Come Home!

"Dismal" is what best describes the performance of South Africa's Proteas at the Cricket World Cup 2019 in England. From the get-go, the team was on the backfoot with injuries to key players like bowlers Dale Steyn and Lungi Ngidi. Hashim Amla, however, sustained a knock to the head but played later. No excuses though. A loss to England, a loss against Bangladesh, a once minnow team, a loss to India, a win against Afghanistan that was more or less expected, a loss to the West Indies, a loss to New Zealand and a loss to Pakistan - with clashes against Sri Lanka and Australia still on the cards - what more could be said - but as Captain Faf Du Plessis mentioned: " Life will go on." Will he understand, though, if the team receives a less-than-welcoming reception at the airport arrivals terminal? Time will tell.
