Will South Africa Police System Be Shut Down By IT Expert, Again?

Keith Keating, is a former member of the South African Police Service and now an IT expert who started a firm  Forensic Data Analysts, which provided software services to the police. The services include forensic analyses programs and firearm licensing software, via the State Information Technology Agency of the police. The company was not paid since 2018 and Keating went to court, threatening the shutdown of services if not paid. Despite a Supreme Court of Appeal order for payment, the police continue to use critical IT systems without paying up and their application for leave to appeal has been dismissed.
