France to Fast-Track Return of Artifacts from Benin

French President Emmanuel Macron last year announced the return of 26 historic artifacts to Benin. Europe is believed to have about 90% of Africa's cultural heritage. Benin was the first country to formally ask France to return the artifacts.

90% of Africa’s cultural heritage currently lies outside the continent, including the Benin Bronzes in the British Museum.
