Zandile Gumede's Axing as Mayor Welcomed by South African Parties

The official opposition in Kwazulu-Natal, the Inkatha Freedom Party, has called the decision to relieve Zandile Gumede of her mayoral duties in eThekwini "long overdue". The move comes as Gumede faces charges of fraud and corruption over an alleged tender of R208 million in the Durban Solid Waste department.
