'Brave' CEO Linked to South African State Capture Mourned by ANC

African National Congress spokesperson Pule Mabe has expressed the ruling party's shock at the death of Gavin Watson, describing the Bosasa chief operating officer as an "anti-apartheid activist" who fought in the struggle for liberation from an early age. Watson's death comes ahead of his scheduled appearance at the state capture commission where he was expected to testify on how he failed to comply with tax obligations and sought to hide assets from the South African Revenue Service.
