Group Threatens to Kill Anyone Who Calls for Mozambique Polls
In a message that could shake Mozambican politics, Mariano Nhongo, the man who claims to be the legitimate leader of Renamo, says his armed wing will prevent the elections scheduled for October, until the government renegotiates the peace treaty with them. Nhongo said he would never accept the authority of the Renamo party leader Ossufo Momade.
Mariano Nhongo threatens to attack any party that begins campaigning.
