The government of Nigeria has vowed to take "definitive measures" against attacks on Nigerian businesses in South Africa. Vusumuzi Sibanda, Chairperson of the African Diaspora Forum, said that world leaders due to arrive for the World Economic Forum Africa summit in Cape Town will be petitioned over the xenophobic violence which saw foreign-owned shops in Johannesburg looted and burned by rioters.
