Edible Straws Earn South African Student Prize, Growing Business

Leila Siljeur, a second-year chemical engineering student who won U.S.$3,414 for her invention of flavoured edible straws, has said she aims to expand what is currently a niche business into something more mass-market by supplying supermarkets and fast-food chains.
