Opposition MPs to Lose Allowances Over Mnangagwa SONA Snub

Zimbabwe's main opposition MDC will not receive their sitting allowances for the past five months after they walked out of Parliament as President Emmerson Mnangagwa presented his state of the nation address, a sign of the political tensions still gripping the country. The Nelson Chamisa-led party said it does not recognize Mnangagwa, accusing him of rigging 2018's polls in which the Constitutional Court threw out the MDC's challenge to the vote.
