Anzisha Prize (Johannesburg)

Anzisha Prize Will Honor 20 Young African Entrepreneurs | Oct 22

The Anzisha Prize received more than 500 submissions from remote and fragile communities; from Somalia to Chad, applicants showcased their business acumen with enterprises that provide solutions to some of the continent's biggest problems. After months of searching the African continent, the Anzisha Prize has unveiled its top 20 finalists for 2019. The winner will be announced at the ninth annual Anzisha Prize Forum on 22 October in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Anzisha Prize, an African Leadership Academy and Mastercard Foundation partnership, is dedicated to identifying, supporting and celebrating young, African entrepreneurs between the ages of 15-22 whose ideas, ventures and businesses harness the power to redefine and reimagine Africa's growth trajectory.

Meet the 2019 Anzisha Prize Finalists! The Anzisha Program is a partnership between African Leadership Academy and Mastercard Foundation that seeks to fundamentally and significantly increase the number of job generative entrepreneurs in Africa. We believe that a key to doing so is to test, implement and then share models for identifying, training and connecting high potential, very young entrepreneurs (15 to 22 year olds) so that many more organisations have better collective success in creating a pipeline of entrepreneurs with the capabilities for scale.
