Kenya's data protection bill has been coming on since 2015. The new bill signed by President Uhuru Kenyatta, complies with EU legal standards as the country looks to bolster investment in its information technology sector. The bill sets out the requirements for the protection of personal data processed by both public and private entities and further outlines key principles that will govern data processing, writes Molly Wasonga for CIO East Africa.
