Is Nigeria Crushing Press Freedom?

Following the re-arrest of journalist and activist, Omoyele Sowore, nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka has slammed agents of the Department for State Security and called on all civil society organizations in Nigeria to unite and give a coordinated response against the government for violating the rights of citizens. Sowore and his co-accused, Olawale Bakare, were freed after four months in detention. Sowore is facing charges of treason, money laundering and insulting President Muhammadu Buhari.
