Govt Points Fingers as South Africa Battles Power Cuts
Who is to blame for the latest wave of power cuts? Well, according to President Cyril Ramaphosa, sabotage is a factor. South African Communist Party General-Secretary Blade Nzimande says the tripartite alliance must take responsibility, while Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe says South Africans should not blame him for Eskom's woes. Deputy President David Mabuza, however, said that unpopular decisions will have to be made to fix ailing state-owned enterprises like the embattled power utility.
