Justice Dept May Shorten More Jail Sentences in South Africa

The Department of Justice and Correctional Services has told News24 that parole boards across the country are considering various remissions of sentence after President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that some prisoners would receive special reduced prison sentences. This follows the release of AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, and speculation that Fees Must Fall activist Kanya Cekeshe will be freed.
