Uganda's Decade of Hopes, Terror and Unfulfilled Promises

The decade has been marked by a wave of violence, human rights violations, murders, assassinations, the Uganda-Rwanda crisis, failed promises from perceived fortunes from oil production, middle income status to simple campaign promises by politicians, including President Yoweri Museveni, writes Stephen Kafeero for the Daily Monitor. Also making international headlines was the December 2017 Parliamentary voted to remove the age-limit for presidential candidates, clearing the way for President Museveni to run for another term.
