Talks With Mining Firm Barrick Gold Still On, Tanzania Govt Says
The October 2019 deal signed between Canadian mining company Barrick and the Tanzanian government on a new profits-sharing structure and to settle a long-running tax dispute remains unratified. The government says it was still negotiating with Barrick Gold Corporation despite missing the December 31, 2019 deadline for the negotiations.
