Nigeria's New Finance Act Just In Time to Shake Things Up!

President Muhammadu Buhari signed into law the finance bill on January 13, 2020 - an amendment to seven existing fiscal laws that includes the petroleum profit tax act, the customs and excise tariff tax act, the company income tax, the personal income tax, the value added tax (VAT), the stamp act and the capital gains tax respectively. "The new bill will aim to reform Nigeria's tax laws to align with global best practices and will support among others, small businesses, in line with our ease of doing business reforms" the president has said.
