ECOWAS Committee to Look Into Nigeria Border Closures
The Economic Community of West African States have formed a committee to study and make a full report on the closure of Nigerian land borders. Nigeria closed its land borders in August 2019 to stem the smuggling of agricultural and petroleum products. The government has resolved to keep the closures in place until Benin, Niger and Chad ensure that they properly regulate their sides of the borders.
