Somali's Al-Shabaab Leaders Split Over Finances

The group's leader Ahmed Diriye, in February reportedly attempted to expel the head of finance and intelligence operations Mahad Karate and the head of external operations Bashir Qorgab, as the three fought over control of resources. An intelligence report seen by The Nation newspaper shows that Qorgab's death which came two weeks after his attempted expulsion, has exacerbated wrangles and suspicion within Al-Shabaab ranks.
