Nigeria Extends Lockdown As COVID-19 Cases Rise

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced a 14-day extension of the lockdown in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun states in a bid to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria. Buhari says that restriction of movement, physical distancing measures and the prohibition of mass gatherings remain the most efficient and effective way of reducing the transmission of the novel coronavirus.
