Find Missing Mozambique Journalist Mbaruco, Rights Groups Urge

Mozambique authorities should urgently locate journalist Ibrahimo Abu Mbaruco, who has been missing since April 7, 2020, in the embattled northern province of Cabo Delgado, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have said. Before he was reported missing, Mbaruco reportedly sent a text message about soldiers near his house in the town of Palma, raising fears that he was abducted. The Mozambican police have denied that the defence and security forces had anything to do with the possible abduction.
