Actor Idris Elba Launches COVID-19 Fund for Farmers Worldwide

British actor and filmmaker Idris Elba has launched a new United Nations fund to help farmers in poorer nations, calling on richer economies to provide aid to prevent "needless hunger and suffering" stemming from the coronavirus pandemic. The Rural Poor Stimulus Facility will help these producers to continue to grow their crops, keep their businesses open and maintain access to financial services and markets amid the pandemic.
