South Africa Announces Huge COVID-19 Economic Relief Package

The South African government has announced a massive social relief and economic support package of R500 billion - around 10% of the country's Gross Domestic Product - to help soften the blow of COVID-19. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the intervention on April 21, 2020, as the country was dealing with 3,465 coronavirus cases, and 58 deaths.
