'Death of Tanzania's Minister a Blow to EAC Integration Efforts'
The death of Tanzania's Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Augustine Mahiga on May 1 is not only a blow to the business community in East Africa, but also to regional integration efforts, the East African Business Council has said. For the past two decades Mahiga worked in New York as the country's permanent representative at the UN from 2003 to 2010. He then served the international community through the UN Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). He was 74 years old.
