Nigerians Throw Caution to the Wind as COVID-19 Lockdown Eases
After five weeks of the lockdown of three major cities, Lagos, Ogun and Abuja, the government has eased the regulations and replaced it with a curfew, and mandatory safety precautions, including the wearing of face masks and social distancing. These regulations were largely breached as thousands visited banks and other public places, writes Ayodamola Owoseye in the Premium Times. Health experts have also warned of a spike in COVID-19 cases.
