Govt Cuts Nigeria's Education, Health Budgets

The Nigeria Labour Congress has strongly condemned the government's move to cut the budget for health and education, particuarly as the country experiences an increase in COVID-19 cases. The health budget has been slashed from U.S.$114,3 million to U.S. $65,6 million, while education has been slashed from U.S.$287,7 million to $131,6 million. The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project is in the meantime appealing to UN representatives to persuade the government to reverse its decision.
