Three EAC States to Pay Over U.S.$15 Billion in Debt Servicing

Top on the list is Kenya, which has been on a borrowing spree in the past few years. The country will have to spend a staggering U.S.$8.5 million in the new financial year on public debt servicing. While Tanzania avoided contracting more debts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda added about U.S.$2.3 billion new loans in two months.
