Amid COVID-19, Millions More Face Hunger - UN Report

A United Nations report estimates almost 690 million people around the world went hungry in 2019. In 2020, the report forecasts that 130 million additional people could be pushed into hunger as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic unless action is taken. The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World is the authoritative global study tracking progress towards ending hunger and malnutrition, and is produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN, the International Fund for Agriculture, the UN Children's Fund, the UN World Food Programme and the World Health Organization.
