Batten Down the Hatches - Strong Winds Coming to Kenya, Rwanda

Rwanda's weather agency has explained that the expected weather condition will result from high-pressure systems from the southern part of the Indian Ocean and urged people to close windows and doors and lean on walls whenever strong winds hit their homes. The Kenya Meteorological Department has also warned of extremely strong winds that could blow off roofs and cause structural damage in eastern parts of the country with large waves developing along the coastline. In May the two countries experienced flooding and landslides that left more than 481,000 people displaced and left over 360 people dead in East Africa.
