Fresh Lockdown Looms in Uganda As Covid-19 Cases Spike

The government could be forced to halt public transport operations if they fail to obey guidelines that were issued in March 2020 to control the spread of Covid-19, Works and Transport Minister Katumba Wamala has said. According to Kampala Capital City Authority, the majority of people who tested positive have either used taxis or boda boda transport, complicating the contact tracing required to stem the Covid-19 spread. Uganda has so far recorded 1,560 Covid-19 cases and 15 deaths.
