eSwatini Hires South African Firm to Attract Investors

South African-based Vuma Reputation Management has been recruited by the eSwatini government to help improve the country's image as a state which stifles political dissent and other freedoms, and where the king has absolute power. This comes after the country's approach to being a private sector-led economy and an export-driven one necessitated appearing good to investors and to help economic recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic. In July, the International Monetary Fund approved a U.S.$110 million loan to assist eSwatini as it struggles with the viral outbreak.
