U.S.,UK Impose Visa Restrictions On Nigerian 'Election Riggers'

The United States and United Kingdom have imposed visa restrictions on a number of people in Nigeria accused of undermining democratic principles ahead of elections in Edo and Ondo States. The U.S. state department did not name the individuals but urged authorities to ensure free and fair elections. Last year, the U.S. government announced visa restrictions on individuals involved in elections in two other states that were marred by violence. The Edo and Ondo governorship polls are scheduled for September 19 and October 10, 2020, respectively.
