What's Behind U.S. Envoy 'Assassination Plot' in South Africa?

South Africa's Security Agency has noted reports about an alleged plot to assassinate the United States Ambassador to South Africa, Lana Marks. U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly believe that Tehran is contemplated killing Marks to avenge America's assassination of top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, head of the country's crack Quds Force - a unit of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. The report detailing the plot - in the U.S. journal Politico - quotes two anonymous US officials.
