Tanzania's Magufuli Won't Extend Term, Insists Ruling Party

Tanzania's ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has reiterated that it has no intention to amend the country's constitution to allow President John Magufuli to extend his term in office. The country's constitution limits a president's rule to two, five-year consecutive terms but there has been calls to change the law to have the incumbent remain in power. Magufuli is seeking a second term in the country's October 2020 elections.
