South Africans Back to Lockdown Level 3 Over Covid-19 Case Surge

South Africa is again at Alert Level 3, with some adjustments, due to a surge in confirmed cases of Covid-19. "Our hospitals, both private and public, are already close to full capacity in a number of provinces, and ICU beds are either full already or rapidly filling up," President Cyril Ramaphosa said during a live address to the nation.
South Africa has breached the one million mark of confirmed COVID-19 cases after 9 502 cases were reported on December 27, bringing the total cases to 1,004,413.

South Africans were also called on to again avoid closed spaces, crowded places and close contact with others.
