WHO Reflects on Covid-19 Outbreak One Year Later

The World Health Organisation has reflected on the past year since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus which resulted in a global pandemic that disrupted societies and economies all over the world. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, said in a statement: "The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered the fastest and most wide-reaching response to a global health emergency in human history. Vaccines offer great hope to turn the tide of the pandemic. But to protect the world, we must ensure that all people at risk everywhere - not just in countries who can afford vaccines - are immunized."
