Mourning the Death of South African Jazz Legend Jonas Gwangwa

The loss of jazz musician and Jonas Gwangwa has shocked the nation, with tributes on social media paying homage to the noted anti-apartheid activist's life and legacy. President Cyril Ramaphosa wrote in a tweet: "A giant of our revolutionary cultural movement and our democratic creative industries has been called to rest; the trombone that boomed with boldness and bravery, and equally warmed our hearts with mellow melody has lost its life force." Gwangwa's death comes two weeks after that of his wife Violet Molebatsi Gwangwa.
