As the second wave of Covid-19 sweeps across Africa, bringing steep increases in infections and deaths, the battle between facts and conspiracies - especially around the safety of Covid-19 vaccines - has also intensified, write Edward Mabaya, Ifeanyi M Nsofor and Sarah Evanega for The Conversation. According to Daily Maverick's Carine Kaneza Nantulya and Dewa Mavhinga, if not addressed, some people's reluctance to be vaccinated - coupled with misinformation - will severely undermine the effectiveness of Africa's response against the pandemic.
