New South African Series Shows a Different Kind of Cape Town

Skemerdans is a neo-noir murder mystery set in the Cape Flats around a grieving widow who fights to regain control of what belongs to her amidst an ongoing murder investigation into the death of her husband. The film was shot in Cape Town but it's a different angle. "We don't see the mountain or the sea in this entire show. So this is not the regular Cape Town; it's what happens after dark," says award-winning actress Ilse Klink. The 13 part murder mystery stars Kevin Smith, Vinette Ebrahim, Brendon Daniels, Carmen Maarman, Mbulelo Grootboom and the late Ceagan Arendse.
